Picnic 2009 was fun, but all good things eventually undergo change....

Sorry, everyone, but there are no plans for a weekend picnic get-together this year. Although our past AVN Family Picnics, held in the Pocono Mountains of PA (at Fr Mike's retreat center) were fun, this is not possible for 2010. Also, we came to realize that far too many members felt excluded due to the great distances they had to travel.  And, as the good Lord knows, people with AVN usually have increased medical expenses. So, having to pay for travel costs  was out of the question for many of us.

Our Board of Directors decided that for this year, members should hold their own picnics to commemorate AVN Awareness Month this July. Yes, that's right! From this point on, July is AVN Awareness Month, with July 15th. being our official AVN Association Day.

Members can  host a party, or even a simple dinner in honor of our Association during July, if a picnic is not feasible. They could invite other members who live in the same area as well as their own family and friends, and make a real occasion of it! We can even hold some contests to see whose get-together was the largest, or the smallest, or had the most organization members -- and so on! Our imaginations are the limit, and one really nice thing is that no matter where you live, you can celebrate AVN Association Day.  More on this as it develops...

If you are a member of the organization and have an interest in holding a get-together, please write to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
